Along with massage, to aid in your recovery and/or general health including pre and post natal, I strongly recommend Pilates practice.

Body Control Pilates is remarkably effective and medically approved. It can also work for everyone, regardless of fitness level.

The matwork exercises have a great attraction in that they need no special equipment, and are particularly safe for those with back problems (and don’t forget that 95% of the UK population has, or has had, backache).

This method is based upon a well-constructed philosophical foundation from which I have personally benefited in strengthening my own posture, allowing me to work and exercise as physically as I do without compromising my health. If you thought Pilates was boring or just for girls, I challenge you to give it a try
and think again!

Sports Massage

Sports massage is a no-nonsense approach which deals directly and efficiently with the body’s soft tissue and is so-called simply because deep-tissue techniques are popular with sports people. But to benefit from a sports massage you do not need to be sporty!

Regardless of your age or fitness levels, benefits include:

  • Improves joint mobility and muscle tone
  • Improves posture
  • Relieving stress, tension headaches, insomnia and anxiety
  • Muscle balancing in rehabilitation / pre and post event work
  • Relief from muscular discomfort during pregnancy
  • Help with growing pains in children and teenagers

All treatments are designed around your specific needs. You can expect a tailor-made session every time, whether you have an injury to treat or just need to relax.

Baby massage & Post-natal

The benefits of infant massage & yoga are practically endless, but the immediate effects include:

  • alleviates the common symptoms of colic, teething, painful wind and constipation
  • encourages babies to sleep better and for sustained periods
  • can help reduce post natal depression and help baby and mother and also baby and father improve that special bond & boosts self esteem and self confidence in new mothers
  • helps stimulate baby’s important health system & functions including co-ordination, respiration, digestion, learning and language development

My postnatal Pilates classes include some of these techniques to keep babies happy while we exercise or private baby massage classes can be arranged.
